Our Brow Tattoo Techniques: A Guide

There are many options when it comes to getting your brows tattooed. At Feather & Blade, we work to give you your dream look and find what works best for your lifestyle. Knowing what we offer and what we do can make the process even more seamless.

We utilize several techniques to give you a brow that best suits your look.

#FAB_shading

For shading, our artists use a rotary tattoo machine, allowing for a softer, more controlled application and an overall more comfortable experience. This is used to create an opaque tattoo that resembles a soft brow, most resembling a makeup-filled brow look. Shading can also be referred to as a ‘powder brow’. This technique works on most people and is recommended for people with sun damage or combo/oily skin. This technique also allows for variation based on preference, with the ability to have a subtle or bold look.

#FAB_microblading

For microblading, hair-like strokes are created using a small hand-held tool, inserting cosmetic pigments into the dermis layer of the skin with a series of needles. The skin has to be dry with minimal sun exposure- this technique is viable for the least amount of customers. Microblading is also known as brow feathering or hair stroke tattooing.

#FAB_combobrow

Combo brows is a cosmetic tattooing technique where the brow is primarily shaded, but some microblading hair strokes are added to the head of the brow for realism. It is our most popular service.

#FAB_hybridbrow

Hybrid brows are a technique where there is microblading across the whole brow, with machine shading added over top to create a more dense look.

#FAB_,ightening

Saline lightening is a tattoo procedure where a solution called Li-FT is tattooed into the skin to draw out and lighten pigment.
