Aftercare
Please note, each client’s skin responds differently to these treatments. This information acts as a guideline only.
Day 1: Within 1 Hour of Treatment
Wash your hands, then gently rinse the eyebrows with neutral soap (we recommend Dial Gold Antibacterial or Tattoo Goo) and water to remove lymph and previously applied ointment. No need to rub.
Pat dry and wait for 2 minutes.
Apply a thin layer of After Inked with a cotton swab or clean fingertips.
Repeat this procedure every 2-3 hours until bedtime.
Before bedtime on the day of the treatment, apply plastic wrap over your brows with the ointment underneath to protect them from drying overnight. Do this only for the day of treatment; do not wrap the brows more than one night.
In the Following 7 dAYS
Use above-described soap and After Inked on your brows twice daily.
After reviewing your current products for rapid exfoliants, use face wash on the remainder of your face.
If you lose your provided ointment, grapeseed oil (found in most grocery stores) may be substituted.
Keep your brows out of the sun throughout the healing process. A physical barrier, like a hat, is the best protection.
What To Expect
Immediately after your procedure, the tattooed area will appear darker, bolder, warmer in color, and more sharply defined. This can last up to a week as the initial healing process takes place. There may be scabbing or flaking of the skin during the initial healing period.
DO NOT PICK AT IT: Let the scab or dry skin come off naturally. Your tattoo will darken and lighten during this process. Wait up to 4 weeks to see the true color.
What Not To Do
Avoid getting any soaps, shampoos, or cleansers on the treated area for the first five days. Do not pick at the skin; let flakes fall off naturally. Do not apply makeup to the tattooed area for the first 2 weeks. Do not tint or dye the tattooed area for one month. Avoid active ingredients on the treated area going forward. No threading, waxing, or hair removal products on the treated area until healed. Avoid heavy sweating for one week post procedure. No swimming pools, hot tubs, or bodies of water for two weeks. Do not soak your face underwater or allow the shower to spray directly on your face for two weeks.
Once Healed
Protect your tattoo from the sun with a physical barrier and/or sunscreen. Avoid products containing acids, Vitamin A, Retinoids, AHA’s & BHA’s, Peroxide, Vitamin C, Witch Hazel, any type of chemical exfoliation (including peels), products described as ‘redefining,’ ‘anti-aging,’ ‘brightening,’ ‘resurfacing,’ ‘renewing,’ or laser procedures on the tattooed area and directly above.. Perfecting Sessions
95% of clients will need a Perfecting Session. A Perfecting Session is a touch-up appointment to refresh anything you did not retain or add to the shape/color. This appointment must be booked 5-15 weeks from last appointment to qualify for the Perfecting Session pricing and must be with your original artist.
Annual Refresher Appointments
Clients typically return fora Refresher appointment after ~18 months to maintain their brows. Book a Refresher appointment when you feel the need to fill in your brows more. Refreshers can be booked online at Feather & Blade's website for up to 24 months following your last appointment.
Symptoms of Infection
Seek immediate medical advice if you experience significant redness, heat, excessive swelling, pus discharge, or discomfort beyond what's described here. Remember, proper aftercare is essential for the longevity and vibrancy of your cosmetic tattoo. These guidelines will help ensure a successful healing process.
